Social issues at school such as bullying, racism, mental health issues and more are important to pay attention to aside from teaching at school. Once becoming a teacher, we cannot run from facing these kind of situations. 

The news of bullying among students is alarming as there was even death case happened because of it. As a teacher, we are expected to become problem solver for every issues occurred at school. How can the teachers help in becoming the problem solver of the social issues?

The teacher should be observant to any signs shown by students. For instance, students with family issues or mental health disorder tend to be quiet and always alone. Thus, the teacher need to approach him and check on how the student are doing. If the student is ready to talk to you about their concerns, listen to it attentively. Moreover, the teacher must create a welcoming environment and deal with the student in calming and caring manners, so the student will feel safe and comfortable.

However, this is not the teacher's responsibility only to alert with behavioral changes of the students. The parents, peers and society also responsible in recognizing changes in an individual to avoid unfortunate events from happening. Hence, all units must work together in creating a harmonious environment for mutual good.
